A Soft Landing

Move-in coordination, post-placement check-ins, and the Family Folder to support every chapter that comes after the move.

A United Family

Tools and conversation guides that bring siblings into alignment instead of letting the decision split the family further.

A Funding Plan That Holds

Clarity on what care will cost, how to pay for it without panic, and whether the BridgeCare Fund or another funding path is right for your family.

Confidence on Every Tour

Tour checklists, the right questions to ask, and someone in your corner during every visit. No more wondering if you missed something important.

Here’s what you’ll walk away with:

A Curated Short List

A hand-matched set of two to four Houston communities that actually fit your mother's needs, your family's budget, and the dynamics in your home.

This is not a referral service. It is a guided journey. Over the course of our work together, we will move from overwhelm to a short list, from a short list to a decision, and from a decision to a settled, supported move-in. You do not navigate this alone. You do not navigate it twice.

This is your shortcut to a placement decision you can stand behind.

WHY WORK WITH ME ON PLACEMENT

This service is for adult daughters who are ready to stop spinning and start moving. If any of these sound familiar, you are in the right place.

Here is what I hear from daughters like you all the time:

If that’s you, keep reading.

"I have toured five places and they all blur together. I do not know how to choose."

"The hospital is pushing for a discharge plan and I do not know where she should go."

"I am ready to make this decision but I do not want to make it alone."

"I want someone who has done this hundreds of times to tell me what I am missing."

Post-placement check-ins, the What to Expect After Placement guide, and ongoing access to the Family Folder. The move is not the end. It is the beginning of a new chapter we help you settle into.

The After

phase six

Contract review, move-in coordination, and the practical pieces most families do not see coming. We make the transition itself as gentle as it can be.

The Move

phase five

Side by side comparison, honest pros and cons, family conversation guides, and the room to make the call when you are ready. No pressure. No pushing. Just clarity.

The Decision

phase four

We tour together when you want a second set of eyes. You get the checklist, the questions, and the on-the-ground read on each community before, during, and after every visit.

The Tours

phase three

I curate a hand-matched set of communities for you. No giant directories, no cold call lists. Just the two to four places that genuinely fit your mother.

The Short List

PHASE two

Ready to Start the Placement Journey?

We start where you are, not where the hospital says you should be. A deep intake call where we map your mother's needs, your family's budget, the relationships in the room, and the timeline you are actually working with.

The Real Picture

PHASE ONE

Over the course of our work together, we move through six phases. Here is what each one looks like.

WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE

press play

Wondering what it is actually like to work with me? Here is a window in.

— Daughter, Sugar Land

"Kelley's process is the difference between making a panicked decision and making a wise one. I will be telling other families about her for the rest of my life."

— Daughter, Memorial area

"Before working with Kelley I had a binder full of brochures and no idea what to do with them. By the end of our first month together my mother was touring two places I felt good about and I was sleeping again."

The families I have walked through placement are not just finding the right home. They are finding the right footing for everything that comes after.

Success Stories

— Daughter, The Heights

"She did not just help me place my mother. She helped me become the kind of daughter who could make this decision and stand behind it."

A clear plan that uses the right resources, including BridgeCare if it fits, without draining your family.

A funding picture that feels impossible to look at.

Sibling decision tools and conversation guides that bring your family back together.

Family conversations that turn into arguments and leave everyone hurt.

A clear comparison framework and someone in your corner during every visit.

Touring places that all blur together with no system for comparing them honestly.

A curated short list of communities that actually fit your mother and your family.

Over the course of our work together, this is what changes.

The Transformation

After:

Drowning in brochures, websites, and well-meaning advice from people who have never done this before.

Before:

As many calls and tour visits as the journey requires. We do not run on a clock. We run on what your family needs.

The placement journey typically runs four to eight weeks from intake through move-in, depending on urgency, family timeline, and community availability.

Full access to the Family Folder. Tour checklists, comparison grids, sibling decision guides, funding flyers, glossary of terms, and every tool we use inside an active placement.

Post-placement check-ins for the first 90 days and the What to Expect After Placement guide so the family is supported well past move-in day.

Ready for Placement Support that Fits your Family?

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if it is actually time for placement?

How do I know if this program is right for me?

If you are asking the question, it is worth a conversation. The first call is free and we can sort through what you are actually looking at together. The Is It Time? checklist is also a good starting point.

What if my mother does not want to leave her home?

What if I already have speaking experience?

Most mothers do not. That is part of what makes this hard. We work with that, not around it. The conversation about home, safety, dignity, and choice is one of the most important pieces of the work, and it is one I have walked through with hundreds of families.

Do you only work with families ready for assisted living?

What happens after the 6 weeks?

No. I work with families at every stage, including those who are still considering home care, exploring memory care, or simply trying to plan ahead. The Strategy Intensive is built for families who are not yet ready for placement but want a guide.

What does this cost the family?

What’s the time commitment?

In most cases, placement support is paid by the community at move-in, not by your family. We will confirm the structure during your clarity call so there are no surprises.

How long does the process usually take?

What if I can’t attend a session?

Most placements run four to eight weeks from intake to move-in. Faster if a hospital discharge is in motion. Slower if your timeline allows for a deeper exploration.

Do you only serve Houston?

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. The Next Step is a Houston practice. The depth of relationships we have with local communities is part of what makes the matching as careful as it is.

What if we need help paying for care?

What kind of support will I get after the program?

We will talk about it. Most families I work with need a funding plan, not just a placement. The BridgeCare Fund and other funding options are part of every conversation when they apply.
